Autographs In The Sky

See all 14 photos

Ah! The Clouds

 Nothing could have stopped me

From noticing.

Perhaps even a blind man would have noticed.

Well,

I More than just noticed.

I mean

I stared,

I gocked,

I admired.

I was close to lusting after.

I even stopped to capture it all

Inside my small silver camera.

Was I a little self conscious

Out there in broad daylight

Snapping pictures?

Well,

Perhaps a little,

But mostly,

I was shameless.

Nothing could have stopped me.

Well, perhaps

Had I let myself drown,

Yesterday,

Had I let myself sink

To the bottom

Where all I could see,

If I looked upward,

Was the murky surface of the Sea of Fretting and Worry.

But I decided

Yesterday,

To look upward

Into the sky of endless horizons.

I know some folks,

Had they seen what I saw,

Would have stood there silent,

Gasping at the wonder of it all,

As I did,

BUT

Would have described it as God’s anger boiling over,

Getting ready

To send torrents of water

To cleanse our evil deeds.

There was certainly a sense of waves

Of advancing soldiers

Marching across an already captured land.

But I didn’t feel captured nor afraid.

They looked to me more like hungry lovers

Building to that climatic moment of impregnating

Mother Earth,

Who seemed to be shouting

"Come to me,

Bathe me,

Like the lovers you are,

All of you!

Rain down on me!"

The Creator’s presence was definitely there.

And as I snapped pictures,

I just kept looking around

To see if perhaps the Creator

Might be standing there

Admiring the scene as well.

And I would have asked for an autograph.

Perhaps,

These pictures are autographs.

M-m-m. How about that?

Wonder how much these autographs would get on Ebay?

Or are they like so many "things"?

Priceless.

And as the day came to an end,

There was one final performance,

Priceless

Performance.

YAY... Vern is back. And with awesome hubs and pictures as well. I turned 34 today and it has snowed all day long. It's so nice to see pictures of a warmer location. Keep up the good work and collect a few more autographs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the youngest old guy on hubpages!! Hope we get to meet in person some day. My wife is atually seriously considering retiring and moving to her brother's property in Jonesburg, MO!! I don't know if I am ready for that!! But, I hope you had a wonderfilled birthday, snow and all. Did you pee the numbers 3 & 4 in the snow? Or was it too cold to even attempt. Could have been the end of it all!! I guess we are warmer by comparison, but it has been quite cold here andn lots of snow in the mountains and two weeks ago on a Friday, we had inches of snow here in town as well. Snowed most of the day here. We are right at the foot of the mountains, elevation runs between 1500 on the low end of town to about 2600 feet on the high end of town and then the roads just start going upward toward the f000 foot level. Anywho thanks again for your comment. I have yet another hub on the burner about where to hold the trial for the mastermind of 911 and hope to get it out soon. Still chopping away at a tone of important stuff and I miss writing and can't quite get myself up early enough to write early in the morning which is my best bet. Take care, my friend. Remember, you're only old when you think Alzheimers is a beer. Perhaps that's not funny!! but original!! Cheers. If I was there, I would get on my knees and sing the "short" version of Happy Birthday to you. And check this link out to hear the Beattles sing Happy Birthday to you.

It was a pretty good birthday actually. I didn't get to pee in the snow because I live in town and my neighbors would love an opportunity to catch me doing something nefarious... lol. It does remind me of a joke though.

3 guys decide to pee off a bridge into the river. They walk out there and the first one decides he's afraid of heights and runs back off the bridge. The other two whip out their equipment and start peeing. The first guy looks off the edge of the bridge and says "Wow that water looks cold" and the second guy replies "It is and it's damn deep too." LOL

As for the 911 mastermind, I got a few ideas for that guy myself. No need to spend tax payer money on a trial when a tall tree and a short rope would fix the problem.

Oh, well, pass me another stein of Alzheimers and enjoy your day. Don't forget to get your lovely bride something for Valentines Day this Sunday. Wouldn't want you to wind up in the dog house.

Hey, those "it is and damn deep" stories always rattle my average, well, I think I will use the word,NORMAL! My normal sized magic wand! I mean just how big does it have to be? Okay, okay, I admit. Of course I'd like to look a little bit like Peter North--or even Peter South for that matter, but it'd certainly be tricky being that I am only 5'7and a half inches tall to start with, and it's bad enough fighting for the arm rest on a crowded plane when I end up in the middle seat next to a six foot five pro football player. I can''t imagine the toll on other parts of my body. Normal size is comfortable and works as splendidly as can be! So that is the long and short of it for now, my friend. Did you hear the Beattles sing happy birthday to you?

Lol... yeah, i think as cold as it was last week, if I had peed in the snow, it wouldn't have even qualified as normal... In fact , I might have only succeeded in getting my zipper wet...lol

The beatles song was great. I hadnt seen that version before. My daughter kept singing "happy burp day to you... you smell like a monkey too..." to me all day....lol

Hey Vern,

I got to check out a few of those autographs in a different way tonight. I added a new hub about it that I thought you might enjoy.
